Natural Family Home

Modern, botanical, integration with existing surrounding greenery/ nature, unpretentious but with a touch of flair, family home – these are some of the key ideas that the client shared for what they wanted for their house. The client also shared their preferred colour and texture palette, one which is consistent with their love for nature. 

With these in mind, we set out to create the home that could encapsulate what they wanted, while also incorporating their practical and functional requirements. The existing perimeter of vegetation of the site was vital in the design, with openings carved out from the building mass to allow the main shared spaces of the house to expand outwards to the greenery. Further, textures and tones that referenced nature were employed across the design of the building so as to properly situate the house within the natural environment.
